Andhra Cricket Association Former president (Late) D.V. Subba Rao and Former state secretary G. Gangaraju inaugurated the Andhra Cricket Academy on 15 Jun 2013 christened Dr. P.V.G. Raju Sports Complex on a sprawling 10-acre land near M.V.G.R. College of Engineering at Chintalavalasa in Denkada mandal.
The complex has facilities such as cricket stadium, pavilion, health centre, lodging and boarding facilities for trainees. The ACA in collaboration with M.V.G.R. College of Engineering built the sports academy to groom children in the age group of 14-17 years as international cricketers.
The academy was planned in memory of international cricketer Sir Vizzy (the second son of Pusapati Vijaya Rama Gajapathi Raju, Raja of Vizianagaram).

Till date we have conducted the following:

  • 16 Ranji matches including A Knock out match and a semi final since 2014.
  • 05 One day International matches for Women (India vs Srilanka)
  • Many Camps in all categories (Men & Women), Coaches refresher courses, trainers refresher courses, physios refresher course and Level”O” Courses for trainers, Physios, Coaches. And we also conducted NCA – ZCA Camps under the age groups of Under 16 & 19 respectively.
  • Few of the Players who have groomed up from Academy have represented India in Under 19 & Under 23 age groups and also in IPL Teams. (Ricky Bhui in India U19 & Sunrisers, Hyderabad), KV Sashikanth in India U 23 Category and KS Bharat for Delhi Dare Devils and India Blue in Challenger trophy.
